Canopy Bridge
Our Canopy Bridge initiative is implemented through the project "Restoring Connectivity for the Endangered Bintan Island Pale-thighed Langur (Presbytis siamensis rhionis) through Canopy Bridges in Lagoi Tourism Area, Bintan Island." Funded by Re:Wild and in collaboration with Bintan Resort, this project focuses on protecting the endangered Bintan Langur from habitat fragmentation and roadkill risks. The canopy bridges are designed to reconnect forest fragments bisected by roads, allowing primates to cross safely. This program integrates public awareness and a collaborative approach with the tourism sector, serving as a species protection model that can be replicated in other development landscapes.
