Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM)
Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) is implemented as part of our biodiversity surveys to record animal vocalizations in their natural habitats non-invasively. This method is highly effective for detecting species that are difficult to observe directly, particularly nocturnal or cryptic wildlife. By deploying systematic recording devices over specific periods, the acoustic data helps us identify species presence, activity patterns, and community dynamics without disturbing the animals or their natural habitats.
